The auto-kick at -10 score is not working.
Had a couple of :kh: 's tonight with scores well below -10.
Please fix.
Thank you.

No regs on for PB kicks?

No regs on for PB kicks?
Just the two of us.

We did finally get some help from others and took care of it but it took a good 10 minutes at the beginning of the round.

As Punkbuster being part of BF is so new, I expect it's going to be a little while before people not only learn how to enter kick points against a player, but also learn what PB is actually capable of, beyong looking for 1337 haXors.

Still, two regs can't kick anyway... unless they cajole two other non-regs to help out. Its tough to get regs to help out if history teaches us anything... and given the fact that communications in BF is more difficult than we experienced in Wolf, I don't hold out a lot of hope.

Hang on, this thread is moving to Abuse where it belongs.

I have checked several times, and the auto-kick setting is indeed set to -10, but we have had complaints before, so I assume it is a bug. I will try and manually add the command statement to the config file to run between every map, but no guarantees that will work either. Sorry.

And as far as the communications in BF, the new patch has all but eliminated the chat lag (as far as I can tell), so it should not be much of a problem going forward.

Same rules as CCM... 25 pts for regs, 10 pts for pleebs, 70 pts to kick.

This is from the pbsv.cfg file on ThunderDome. If anyone has any ideas, lemme know.

2 regs + 2 non-regs = kick

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that CCM gave regs 30 PB points. That would reduce the reliance on non-regs to just one.

Just out of curiousity, how is the negative score achieved? Is it -2 for each TK? I wonder if the game is testing for a score of exactly -10 instead of <= -10 and misses KHs moving from -9 to -11...

Whatever it is, if it is a known bug to the KH community (it exists), then they may be deliberately exploiting it. I would contact EvenBalance to see if the auto-kick has a known bug and if there are workarounds or fixes.

Yeah right... as I stated in my previous post, it rarely if ever happened on RtCW and I would bet that getting it to happen in BF1942 with the glorious chat interface would be even more rare.

And that's assuming those two regs have had their PB points upgraded.

When a deputy or admin wasn't present, PB Power kicks by regs only was even a rare occasion on the old CCM1 server.

Trying to coach someone through doing it on the BF server would be a feat.

That is why I had not asked for my PB points to be upgraded. Doubt I will ever use them... I will not even play on the server if an admin is not present.

It's been a tough transition for me as a former admin. I just have no patience for idiots and would rather knit or organize my sock drawer than run the risk of getting frustrated by a bunch of knuckletards.

True, it can be tough to get people to vote on PB, but it's not impossible. We did it over the weekend on AK's, I believe.

We did manage to kick the to idiots last night. Took a lot of work but it happened with some great help from non-regs.

As for the comm problems in BF, the 1.6 patch seems to have eliminated all of those problems. Getting people to read is another story but...

What I refer to in the chat interface is that it is not as easy to follow (withstanding chat lag) as we were accustomed to in RtCW. It is not as much an integral part of the player HUD. The text is difficult to read and line characters limited.

I know its not impossible, but a bit like pushing string sometimes. But, like I said, I refuse to have to deal with it. That is why we upped PB points to 40 per reg on CCM, up from 25. That way it took only two regs to kick absent a deputy or admin.
